Giordana was born in Rome and received her Master of Arts in Solo Piano and Chamber Music from the world renowned Scuola di Musica di Fiesole under the guidance of Pietro De Maria and Bruno Canino; she was mentored in composition by Francesco Telli and Jeff Nichols.
Out of a strong interest in teaching and research, she obtained a Bachelor degree in Musicology from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, and a Master’s degree in Music Theory and Analysis from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, both with honors.
Giordana regularly performs as a soloist and in chamber ensembles in Europe and in the US. Among the Italian venues are Villa Borghese, Pianocity Milano (Milan festival), Reale Circolo Canottieri Tevere Remo, La Feltrinelli (Rome), Palazzo Farnese di Caprarola (Viterbo), Università di Roma ‘Tor Vergata’. Venues in the US include Opera America (NY), the Wheeler Opera House (CO), Italian Cultural Center (NY), The Czech Center (NY), Tenri Cultural Center (NY), Le Frak Concert Hall (NY), Elebash Concert Hall (NY). Giordana regularly collaborates with sopranos Kristýna Kůstková and Erin Theodorakis, performing a broad repertoire ranging from Czech traditional songs to American contemporary song cycles.
Alongside her activity as an interpreter Giordana has developed her passion for opera and her activity as a vocal coach, working in productions of Le nozze di Figaro (2019, Aspen Music Festival), Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi, and Paula Kimper’s Patience and Sarah among others. Her recent conducting experiences include Respighi’s Il tramonto and Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony, as well as working as prompter and assistant conductor in Suor Angelica and Der Kaiser von Atlantis. Her sharp ears as a Vocal Coach and her awareness and knowledge of the voice also developed thanks to her work as a Vocal Coach and accompanist with the renown soprano Donata D'Annunzio Lombardi both in New York and in Italy.
She is currently enrolled in the prestigious DMA program at the Graduate Center CUNY, and is a recipient of the CUNY Graduate Center Fellowship. In New York, she serves as Adjunct Professor at the Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music Opera Studio and as vocal coach at the Hunter Opera Theatre.
